VLC media player for FreeBSD
VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVDs, Audio CDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
Install VLC through the Ports Collection
VLC is included in the Ports Collection of the FreeBSD operating system. So you can simply install VLC with pkg install vlc.
However you will get a very bare-bone version of VLC. We recommend you to compile it with the following command:
# cd /usr/ports/multimedia/vlc && make install clean
